Today Luc ate pancakes for breakfast, a bagel with cream cheese for lunch and a dinner roll for dinner. All stolen off the table. And I still can’t get a hold of any trainers!
‘It’s October!’
Jackson to neighbor: “We’re looking for decorations and pumpkins. Cuz it’s October!”
Neighbor: “Do you have a costume?”
Jackson, looks down: “No. I have a coat.”
More positivity
Me: “Shoot, we’re out of milk!”
Jackson: “Don’t worry, Mommy! We can just pretend my water is milk.”
And another one:
Me: “Oh no!!! Luc ate your pancake!”
Jackson: “Don’t worry, Mommy! We have lots and lots of other food.”
Our new favorite park
It’s also right next to the fire station so we also get to check out the fire trucks.
Change of clothes needed
The diaper blowouts on this baby are no joke. At this point it’s pretty much guaranteed to happen any time I try to take him somewhere. Just in the last week or two:
Doctor’s office? Check.
Visit at Kelly’s house? Check.
Visit to the forest preserve? Check.
Physical therapy? Check.
Coincidence?
I don’t think this had a deeper meaning, but through the lens of COVID this is so sad!
Jackson, talking about a picture he drew: “It’s a Halloween party. But it’s missing something.”
Me: “Oh, what’s it missing?”
Jackson: “It needs friends.”
Ahhhhhhhhhh
Jackson holds up a skeleton hand. (We got out the Halloween decorations.)
Jackson: “Mommy, say, ‘bye.'”
Me: “Bye!”
Jackson: “Byeeee! See you on the other side!”
You can do it, Daddy
During our evening stroll…
Justin: “Why don’t you walk.”
Jackson: “No. It’s hard work walking.”
Justin: “It’s even harder work carrying you!”
Jackson: “It’s OK, you can be brave. Let’s go all the way to the end!”
Another blowout
Justin: “Where’s Mommy?”
Jackson: “She’s changing Beckham. There’s poop all over.”
He keeps saying this, lol
“He’s so cute! I’m so glad we’re having a baby. Can we keep him? Please?!”
Jackson
Breaking news
I was still half asleep when I picked up the baby for a 3 a.m. feeding but was quickly jolted awake by the breaking news alert on my phone that the president tested positive for coronavirus. I couldn’t believe it — and wanted so badly to wake up Justin to tell him!
Also, usually at this time of the night I’m catching up on old news — not reading it hot off the presses!
Growing so fast
I cleaned out Beckham’s dresser and packed away all of the newborn and smaller size clothes. How is it already time for that?!
Here he is next to a onesie that, yes, he really did used to wear, although it looks so tiny now!
